Job Summary

Colorado Taproom & Grill is looking for a Kitchen Manager with culinary and management experience to supervise daily back-of-house restaurant operations.   The successful candidate will be a motivating professional who delegates appropriately, but doesn’t mind contributing to prep work or delivering food when necessary.


  • Train kitchen staff in specific stations, and cross-train as necessary
  • Schedule kitchen staff to ensure there are always enough workers to meet the demand
  • Manage kitchen staff and coordinate food orders
  • Check food plating and temperature
  • Store food products in compliance with safety practices
  • Keep weekly and monthly cost reports
  • Maintain sanitation and safety standards in the kitchen
  • Maintain inventory levels and conduct full weekly inventory
  • Order supplies, food and ingredients based on rapidly shifting demand
  • Schedule and oversee necessary maintenance and repairs on kitchen appliances
  • Price menu items in collaboration with the Restaurant Manager
  • Assist the Restaurant Manager with menu changes and adjustments based on seasonal availability
  • Respond personally to guest questions and complaints


  • 5+ years’ culinary experience
  • 2+ years’ restaurant management experience
  • Ability to work well under pressure and in a fast-paced environment
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills
  • Capable of conducting and assessing restaurant inventory
  • Hands-on experience with planning menus and ordering ingredients
  • Willing to work a flexible schedule
  • Experience with delegating tasks and maintaining a fast speed of service
  • Certified Food Protection Manager
  • Certification from a culinary school or degree in Restaurant Management is a plus
